Enrollment

WHo can enroll in your program?

Any student who is 16 and older can enroll in our program.

Can immigrants enroll in your program?

Yes, our Adult ESL Program is made to meet the needs of immigrants who are also working adults. We have taught English to immigrant students from more than 50 different nationalities!

DO I need a visa to enroll in your program?

You don’t need a visa to study at our school. If you have a tourist visa and are currently in the United States you may be able to take a short course. If you don’t have a visa you can still study at our school. If you want to change your status from Tourist (B1 Visa) to Student visa, please refer to the school on this list: https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/school-search

how do I enroll?

You need to visit our office and enroll in person.

DO i need to take a placement test to enroll?

Yes, whether you are a new or returning student, you need to take the placement test to enroll.


Courses and Programs

Are the classes in person?

Yes, classes are face-to-face with a teacher in a group class setting.

Do you offer online classes?

Most of our courses are in person. but we offer online instruction upon demand.

How many students are there per class?

Between 3 and 15 according to classroom size and level.

Do you offer evening classes?

Yes, we offer evening classes for students who work during the day.

What are class times?

The Adult ESL program is available in both daytime and evening. Classes are four days per week (Monday to Thursday) in the morning from 9:00am to 10:30pm and at night from 8:00pm to 9:30pm.

how long is the adult esl program?

The Adult ESL Program is usually four months long. It runs from September to December, January to April, and May to August. Remember, you must enroll one month before the program starts.

When can I start the program?

You can start your classes after you enroll. We accept new students for the Adult ESL Program three times a year. August, December, and April.

Do you offer an Intensive English program?

Yes, the next session will begin in the summer 2022. Students will study at least 18 hours per week four or five days per week. Check the new IEP curriculum here:  https://psolschool.org/intensive-english-program

do you offer citizenship courses?

Currently, we don't.

Do you offer ged courses?

Currently, we don't.

do you offer free courses?

No, we don't.


Information for International Applicants

Do you offer F1 Visas?

No, our school does not issue student visas.

Do you issue the I-20 form?

No, our school does not currently issue the I-20 form used for international student visa applications.

Do you have language interpreters?

We don’t have interpreters for all languages. If you plan to visit the school but don’t speak English you are welcome to bring a friend, family member, or someone you trust who can interpret for you. 


Tuition Payment

When do I need to pay?

You need to pay the full tuition upon enrollment to reserve your spot.

Are there payment plans?

You can pay the tuition in two payments: 50% at registration and 50% after 30 days from the start of the session.

Are there any discounts?

Yes, you are eligible to receive a discount if you pay in cash, through Zelle, or Venmo.

do you offer financial aid?

No, currently we don't.

Feedback

How do i share a complaint or concern with PELI?

All students have a right to file a formal complaint with the school staff. Students should either submit a complaint by email to info@psolschool.org, or speak with a member of the administrative staff or school director by appointment.

Partial tuition refund and CANCELLATION FEE CALCULATION

The last date of the student's recorded attendance or the date the cancellation request date is the termination date.


 You will be eligible to receive a refund:

 

  • When canceling within 5 days of registration  - 100% refund 
  • After 5 days of registration and before attending any classes - 100% tuition refund minus a non-refundable fee of $55
  • Up to 7 classes into the term - 75% refund of tuition minus a non-refundable fee of $55
  • After 7 classes into the term and before 25% of the term has elapsed - 55% refund of tuition minus a non-refundable fee of $55
  • When more than 25% and less than 50% of the term has elapsed  - 30% refund of tuition minus a non-refundable fee of $55
  • When 50% or more of the term has elapsed - No refund 


Temporary Withdraw

If a student withdraws mid-term and intends to re-enroll the next term, there are 2 options. 

  • The student can take the refund for early withdrawal, following the eligibility outlined above, and then re-enroll next term as usual. Or,
  • The student can request their refund be rolled over to their next session. The refund amount will then be discounted from the cost of their next term. The cost of books may also be waived if the student will continue at the same level upon re-enrollment.


Refunds shall be made within 30 calendar days of the date the student fails to enter, leaves the program, or fails to return from a leave of absence.

This is how these fees are calculated:


  • When canceling within 5 days of registration  - 100% refund 
  • After 5 days of registration and before attending any classes - 100% tuition refund minus a non-refundable fee of $55
  • Up to 7 classes into the term -  student owes 25% of full tuition
  • After 7 classes into the term and before 25% of the term has elapsed - student owes 45% of full tuition
  • When more than 25% and less than 50% of the term has elapsed - student owes 70% of full tuition
  • When 50% or more of the term has elapsed - student owes full tuition


Payment of the partial tuition cancellation fees must be made in order to re-enroll into a future course/program or sessions.


Cancellation fee payment must be made within 5 calendar days of course cancellation.
